This time of the year, many families are hosting gatherings, whether for graduations, Father's Day, or just a summer celebration. There is another important moment to observe this month: Juneteenth. Celebrated each year on June 19, it marks the day in 1865 when Texas, the last state to do so, declared that slavery was no longer law of the land.
