GBH, the leading multiplatform creator of public media in the U.S., today announced a suite of educational tools and original content dedicated to marking the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Anchoring the initiative is a new collection of free digital classroom resources from PBS LearningMedia, developed in partnership with the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund, that bring together archival video, firsthand accounts, and primary sources to help educators explore the events of September 11, their impact on individuals and communities, and their broader historical context and legacy. -
AMERICAN EXPERIENCE Announces New Slate of Limited-Series Documentaries for PBS and a Surge in Digital Growth
As the public need for trusted, fact-based storytelling intensifies, AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, the GBH-produced history documentary series for PBS, is returning in 2027 with limited-series documentaries. Meanwhile, it is achieving massive growth with short-form videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, generating more than 19 million video views in the last five months, a 273 percent increase from the same period last year. -
NEW NOVA SERIES “EVOLUTION,” A BBC STUDIOS PRODUCTION WITH NOVA AND GBH FOR PBS AND BBC, TRACES THE HISTORY OF LIFE ITSELF
The award-winning PBS science series, NOVA, part of the GBH documentary unit, today announced EVOLUTION, a new five-part series that traces the epic journey of life, from a single ancient cell to the amazing variety of species alive today. The series will premiere Wednesdays, October 14 - November 11 at 9pm ET/8c on PBS (check local listings) and stream at pbs.org/nova, NOVA on YouTube, and the PBS App. -
GBH Music and CRB Classical 99.5 Partner With Classical NEPM to Expand Tanglewood Broadcasts Across Massachusetts and Beyond
GBH Music and CRB Classical 99.5 are partnering with Classical NEPM to broadcast the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s concerts from Tanglewood this summer, reaching listeners with more live music across Massachusetts and beyond. New this season, through an expanded collaboration following the merger of NEPM and GBH, Classical NEPM will broadcast more of the performances live, and begin airing all three weekend concerts.
