While winter certainly has a hold on New England at the moment, we have a couple of spring festivals knocking at the door. On the evening of March 2, the Jewish holiday Purim begins. The holiday is marked by religious readings, sharing food and wealth, and feasts. Then, on March 4, the vibrant holiday of Holi arrives. The Hindu Festival of Colors marks the end of winter and the triumph of good over evil.
Whether you celebrate Holi or Purim or just the coming of spring, here are some recipes to enjoy.
