Dozens of Bob Ross paintings will be auctioned to help public TV after funding cuts
Thirty of Ross' trademark landscapes will be sold at a series of auctions starting in November. He painted many of them live on The Joy of Painting, which started airing on PBS in the 1980s.

GBH Jazz Night with Lihi Haruvi (Boston Public Library)
GBH Jazz Nights welcome saxophonist Lihi Haruvi and her eclectic quartet of mandolin, bass, and percussion. This unique ensemble delivers an unforgettable evening of genre-blending music, where folk meets jazz - driving improvisation into a powerful, immersive soundscape, with a special highlight on the rarely heard sopranino saxophone.
GBH Jazz Nights showcase the incredible range of jazz talent in the Greater Boston area. The series is co-hosted by JazzBoston and GBH Music, taking place on the second Thursday of every month from September through May. Tickets are free, but registration is encouraged. Outspoken Saturdays (December 2025)
The GBH BPL studio will host Outspoken Saturdays, a spoken word poetry event for emerging artists. Every first Saturday of the month, the series will be created in collaboration with spoken word artist Amanda Shea. Join us!

GBH Jazz Night with David Leach (Boston Public Library)
GBH Jazz Nights welcomes pianist, composer, and poet David Leach alongside saxophonist Lihi Haruvi, drummer Dor Herskovits, and bassist John Lockwood for a set of Leach’s original compositions. Rooted in the Jazz and Creative music tradition, Leach’s music draws on eclectic influences ranging from 20th-century classical, American Folk, and Progressive Metal, inviting listeners into a soundscape that is at turns intimate and exhilarating, yet always deeply felt and open to the present moment. The band can also be heard on David’s debut album, The Ground That Holds You as You Fall Forever, on Adhyâropa Records (2025).
