Finding a romantic partner is tough enough. But figuring out the world of dating and love while on the autism spectrum has its own challenges — ones that are often not addressed for autistic adolescent or adult populations.
After years of underrepresentation, there are now classes and even clinical studies focused on autistic and neurodivergent people who want to find love but need guidance in unique ways — programs that are hoping to bridge that gap and help autistic folks find the love and intimacy they desire and deserve.
We hear more about romance on the spectrum from those working directly with – or those in – the autism community as part of our yearlong series, How We Love.
