In Everett, Mayor Carlo DeMaria has conceded the race in an upset. It appears City Councilor Robert Van Campen will take the corner office.
In Somerville, at-large City Councilor Jake Wilson declared victory in the race to be the next mayor of Somerville.
In Worcester, Joe Petty has declared victory in his bid for an eighth term as Worcester’s mayor. In a major shakeup, five new faces will join Worcester’s 11-member City Council.
In Brockton, Moises Rodrigues has declared victory to become the city’s first Black mayor.
In Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu was already guaranteed another term. The Rev. Miniard Culpepper declared victory in the City Council race for District 7. There are four at-large City Council seats. Incumbent and Wu ally Henry Santana — who’d come fourth in the preliminary — declared victory, as did at-large councilor Ruthzee Louijeune.
We’ll be updating this article throughout the night as candidates declare victory and concede.
