Whitman State Representative Geoff Diehl, who is considering a run for U.S. Senator next year, criticized Sen. Elizabeth Warren Monday for accepting a deal to author books while serving in Congress.

Diehl, a conservative South Shore Republican, said he hasn't read Warren's book and would refuse a book deal if he unseats Warren next year.

"Senator Warren is a prolific fundraiser and again, that seems to be her main agenda is raising money for herself, whether it's for her campaign or personally, 1.6 million dollars in book deals since she's been in office, two books and not working for the people of Massachusetts during that time," Diehl said.

Warren published a new book on the middle class last week.

If Diehl decides to run, he'll join technology entrepreneur Shiva Ayyadurai in the Republican primary race
