Ever since the stock market took a deep dive recently some have speculated that the United States is about to enter another recession. Boston Globe business columnist Shirley Leung, however, said that when she questioned businesses within the Boston area whether they’re bracing themselves for a recession, many told her they are not.

“I was pleasantly surprised a lot of them are not,” Leung said. “They [are] still planning for growth.”

It’s not just the threat of a recession that’s worrying businesses, Leung also looked into how President Trump’s ongoing trade war with China has impacted businesses in the state. According to Leung the most hard hit by the trade war are manufacturers in Western Massachusetts.
