Hopes among some Americans for a surprise that would keep him from becoming the 45th president didn’t materialize. Still, there were protests all over the country, including outside the Massachusetts State House. Combine that outrage with his loss in the popular vote and the ongoing call for investigations into Russian hacking and its influence on the election, and it’s clear that Trump will be fighting issues of legitimacy for some time come.
