Gov. Charlie Baker is cutting $50 million dollars from the current fiscal year budget to help overcome shortfalls in revenue.
Baker’s budget team says it’s identified another $50 million from unclaimed property and federal sources to help bridge the budget gap.
Of the cuts, $10 million come from Medicaid fee for service payments for medical care, with more cuts coming to the State Police and early retirement programs.
Baker’s full budget proposal for next year is due to the Legislature by the end of this month.
