House and Senate lawmakers have settled their differences and arrived at a compromise version of the budget to send on for Baker’s approval. The negotiations took over a week longer than expected, with a six-member conference committee seemingly gridlocked by differences in the House and Senate’s two versions of the bill.
Both chambers passed their own $38.1 billions dollar spending plans in May but the two versions differed on income tax proposals.
The House and Senate Ways and Means Committees say they will file their compromise bill tonight and the branches are on track to give final approval this week.
