Call it a split decision.
On Tuesday, the state Gaming Commission ordered a second referendum in Revere on a proposed casino at Suffolk Downs – and almost no one’s happy about it. Opponents said the project should be nixed outright – and supporters insisted another vote is unnecessary.
If a resort casino goes up in Revere, it will have a ripple effect far beyond that city’s six square miles.
And while East Boston voters viewed the proposal as a liability – municipal leaders in several other adjacent communities are backing the plan.
Saugus town manager Scott Crabtree and Celeste Myers is a strong opponent of the Revere casino proposal – and a leader of the group No Eastie Casino- joined Greater Boston on Tuesday to talk about it.
