The Boston Globe says its sale to principal Boston Red Sox owner John Henry is finalized.
The paper said in August that Henry had agreed to buy it from The New York Times Co. The deal will give Henry the 141-year-old newspaper, its websites and affiliated companies.
The Times announced in February it was putting the Globe up for sale four years after calling off a previous attempt to sell it. The company's CEO said at the time that selling the Globe would help it focus attention on The New York Times brand.
The deal was briefly held up by a restraining order in a lawsuit against the Telegram & Gazette of Worcester (WUS'-tur), part of the New England Media Group along with the Globe. That order was lifted Thursday.
