Boston police say a suspect has been killed and two officers wounded in a shootout in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.
Police say the officers' injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police Superintendent-in-Chief Daniel Linsky said the two plain-clothes drug unit officers were near Dorchester Avenue and Shepton Street at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday when they got out of their car to confront two people.
Linsky said the officers identified themselves as police, and one of the people pulled a gun on them and "began a gun battle." The suspect was shot and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Linksy said one officer was shot in the leg, and the other was grazed on the leg.
