Boston, Mass. - (Jan. 30, 2026) – GBH Music, in collaboration with JazzBoston, has announced the third season of GBH Music Presents JazzNOW, a television and streaming series dedicated to showcasing the extraordinary abundance of jazz talent with ties to Boston. The series will film in front of live audiences starting in February with episodes streaming on PBS Passport two weeks after each event and select episodes airing during Jazz Appreciation Month in April on GBH 2.
“There is so much musical talent connected to Boston - especially when it comes to jazz,” said Sam Brewer, General Manager of GBH Music. “We are passionate about making this art form accessible to audiences across the Commonwealth on air, online, and in person, in a way that only public media can.”
The third season of GBH Music Presents JazzNOW features exciting performances filmed at GBH’s Fraser Performance Studio with a jazz club feel. Tickets are available at gbh.org/events for the in-person tapings:
- February 4: Saxophonist Godwin Louis kicks off the 2026 series with his global jazz perspective.
- March 4: Acclaimed pianist and composer Ethan Iversonexplores the diverse legacies of jazz innovators James P. Johnson and John Coltrane.
- April 30: Emmy-nominated composer and cuatro player Fabiola Méndez celebrates International Jazz Day.
- June 3: Saxophonist Greg Abate closes the season with a tribute to Ray Charles.
Paris Alston, host of GBH News Rooted, will host this year’s series, bringing her storytelling expertise to the GBH Music Presents JazzNOW stage.
The series, produced by Kathy Wittman, will also feature a special Jazz Appreciation Month celebration in April, as GBH 2 broadcasts select performances from current and previous seasons.

In addition to the studio series, GBH Music and JazzBoston continue the tradition of bringing jazz to the community with GBH Jazz Nights, a free monthly live music series in the GBH Studio at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square, held on the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This season kicked off in September and continues through May featuring:

- April 9: Ken Field and the RSE Trio
- May 14: Sam Spear
- May 28: Tiger Okoshi: A Tribute to Miles Davis
