BOSTON (December 21, 2021) – Beginning a new chapter for its flagship daytime news program, GBH has named Jamie Bologna as executive producer of GBH News’ Boston Public Radio. Bologna joins GBH from WBUR, where he was the senior producer and studio director of Radio Boston. Bologna will work closely with Boston Public Radio hosts Margery Eagan and Jim Braude to shape the vision and day-to-day operations of the show starting on Monday, January 10.

At Boston Public Radio, Bologna will lead one of GBH News’ most important platforms for thoughtful, local conversation. He will head up topical coverage for the show including such news-making segments as Ask the Mayor, Ask the Police Commissioner, Ask the Attorney General, and others. Bologna will also be part of bringing Boston Public Radio broadcasts back to the GBH Studio at the Boston Public Library in the coming months.

Over his public media career, Bologna has been honored with two regional Edward R. Murrow awards for his work in writing and reporting, and news documentary work. He also won recognition from the Public Media Journalists Association (formerly PRNDI) for his work on a podcast about the trail of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Prior to his public media experience, Bologna worked in web, online newsletters, events and public relations at two Washington, D.C. think tanks. He earned a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University’s College of Communication in 2015 and graduated from Tufts University in 2008.

Bologna is the latest of several new leadership hires at GBH News starting with the appointment of Executive EditorLee Hill and followed by the announcement thatParis Alston and Jeremy Siegel will join as co-hosts of Morning Edition in the new year. Fourteen new editors, reporters and producers have joined GBH News since October 2021. The most recent hires include Sam Turken, who starts as Worcester Bureau Reporter on January 10 and Alexi Cohan, who starts as a Producer on Greater Boston on January 3.
