A few weeks ago, the WGBH Digital crew met with chef Joanne Chang at her Flour Bakery with one mission in mind: to launch "You & Julia." You & Julia is an all-new monthly challenge, launched in partnership with the Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, where you get to be Julia Child, the legendary chef and host of WGBH's The French Chef.
Every month, we present you with a recipe, kitchen hack, or other culinary task at which to try your hand before submitting the results to @WGBHBoston on Facebook. Our panel of judges, including Chang and other celebrity chefs, will review the submissions, and the best will be featured on social media and the official You & Julia website. "Don't be shy. Failures, success, kitchen disasters—we want to see them all!" says Chang.
This month’s challenge is inspired by The French Chef episode in which Julia Child makes her famous Crêpes Suzette—a perfect fit for Chang, who is the legendary pastry chef behind Boston's beloved Flour Bakery.
