As part of its longstanding commitment to supporting science education, GBH has announced the 2025 recipients of the Paula S. Apsell GBH STEM Scholarship. Seventeen Boston public high school graduates will each receive a more than $2,000 award toward post-secondary STEM education. The scholarship is named for Paula Apsell, Senior Executive Producer Emerita of the science series NOVA, which is produced by GBH and seen nationally on PBS. The scholarship application process is open to all Boston public high school seniors planning post-secondary education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

“Congratulations to the 2025 cohort of Paula S. Apsell GBH STEM Scholars on taking this next step in their paths in medicine, engineering, science, and other fields that contribute to our understanding of the world,” said GBH President and CEO Susan Goldberg. “Inspiring curiosity is core to GBH’s mission, and we’re proud to support this talented group of Boston Public Schools students who will help answer the questions of tomorrow.”

The scholarship winners represent nine Boston public schools: Boston Adult Technical Academy, Boston Latin Academy, Boston Latin School, Charlestown High School, East Boston High School, John D. O’Bryant School of Math and Science, Josiah Quincy Upper School, New Mission High School, and Snowden International High School. They plan to study STEM related fields at colleges and universities across the country this fall, including Boston University, Cornell University, Harvard University, and Middlebury College.
