MASTERPIECE begins its 50th year with this seven-part adaptation of James Herriot’s beloved books describing the adventures of a rural veterinarian in 1930s Yorkshire. Newcomer Nicholas Ralph makes his television debut as the iconic animal doctor known for his inspiring humor, compassion and love of life. Dame Diana Rigg plays Mrs. Pumphrey, the haughty owner of the Pekingese Tricki- Woo, in one of her last appearances on screen.
