The GBH BPL studio will host Outspoken Saturdays, a spoken word poetry event for emerging artists. Every first Saturday of the month, the series will be created in collaboration with spoken word artist Amanda Shea. Join us!

A Conversation with Jacques Pépin
GBH presents a national virtual event honoring chef/culinary personality, Jacques Pépin.
Jacques sits down for a wide ranging discussion with Francis Lam, host of The Splendid Table. Jacques will share reflections on his career, his decades-long connection to public media, the important work he does with his foundation, and his enduring role as a culinary icon. There will also be time during the event where you can ask Jacques your own questions.
Our virtual event occurs a few weeks in advance of Jacques’ s 90th birthday, which occurs on Dec. 18, 2025. Join us to celebrate all things Jacques!
More about Jacques Pépin: The winner of sixteen James Beard Awards and author of over thirty cookbooks, including The Apprentice, Essential Pépin, and Jacques Pépin Quick & Simple, Jacques Pépin is a chef, author, television personality, educator, and artist. He has starred in thirteen acclaimed PBS cooking series. His dedication to culinary education led to the creation of the Jacques Pépin Foundation in 2016.
More about event host Francis Lam: Francis Lam is the host of The Splendid Table, produced by American Public Media. Lam is the former Eat columnist for The New York Times Magazine and is Vice President and Editor in-Chief at Clarkson Potter, a division within Penguin Random House. For two seasons, Lam was a regular judge on Bravo’s hit show, Top Chef Masters. An award-winning writer, Lam has written for numerous publications, including Gourmet, Bon Appetít, Food & Wine, Men’s Journal, and the Financial Times.
Ticket price: $120 (includes a Zoom link to join the live 90-minute Zoom Webinar event on Nov. 7. An autographed hard cover copy of Jacques’s newest book, The Art of Jacques Pépin, will be mailed to the ticket purchaser’s address).

GBH Jazz Night with Lihi Haruvi (Boston Public Library)
GBH Jazz Nights welcome saxophonist Lihi Haruvi and her eclectic quartet of mandolin, bass, and percussion. This unique ensemble delivers an unforgettable evening of genre-blending music, where folk meets jazz - driving improvisation into a powerful, immersive soundscape, with a special highlight on the rarely heard sopranino saxophone.
GBH Jazz Nights showcase the incredible range of jazz talent in the Greater Boston area. The series is co-hosted by JazzBoston and GBH Music, taking place on the second Thursday of every month from September through May. Tickets are free, but registration is encouraged.
