Singin In the Rain , a production from Bill Hanney's North Shore Music Theatre, running through August 28.

North Shore Music Theater's Synopsis: "Experience the glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s golden age. It’s 1927, and Don Lockwood and Lina LaMont are the toast of Tinseltown until “talkies” come on the scene. Of course, you remember Gene Kelly splashing his way through the famous MGM film the greatest movie musical ever made. But have you seen it live? Join us as we make a big splash with this spectacular and romantic musical comedy. There will be wonderful singin’ and dancin’ and, yes, it really will rain onstage!"

The Witness , playing at the Regent Theater from August 26 through September 1, and select theaters across the country

TheWitness-film.com's Synopsis: "Kitty Genovese became synonymous with apathy after news that she was stabbed to death on a New York City street while 38 witnesses did nothing. Forty years later, her brother decides to find the truth. He uncovers a lie that transformed his life, condemned a city and defined an era."

Jared Says: "I was profoundly affected by how they were able to unravel this."

Miss Sharon Jones!screening at the Landmark Kendall Square Cinema from August 26 through September 1st, and in select theaters through October

Synopsis: As she prepares for her most important tour,  Jones is diagnosed with cancer -- her most difficult obstacle yet. Follow Jones over the course of a year, as she is determined to both hold her band together and battle her diagnosis. 

Jared Says: "The concert scenes in this film are just so extraordinary... She is just such a marvel to watch."
