Inspired by the imaginations and drawings of Boston public school children, sculptor Jeff Briggs created life-like characters that include 14 different animals native to the land, sea and air of Massachusetts. Carousel characters include a lobster, sea turtle, cod, peregrine falcon, grass hopper, harbor seal, fox, skunk, whale, squirrel, rabbit, butterfly, barn owl, and sea serpent. The Tiffany & Co. Foundation Grove will feature a variety of trees, shrubs, and perennials to offer four seasons of color and horticultural interest. A natural green canopy will provide shade and buffer noise and visual distractions from the street. The Greenway Carousel and Grove will be organically maintained.

John Singer Sargent Watercolors October 13th – January 20
Presenting more than 90 of Sargent’s dazzling works, this exhibition, co-organized with the Brooklyn Museum, combines for the first time the two most significant collections of watercolor paintings by John Singer Sargent (1856–1925), images created by a consummate artist with daring compositional strategies and a complex technique.
Four Centuries of Massachusetts Furniture is a first-time collaboration among 11 museums and cultural and educational institutions throughout the state highlighting Massachusetts furniture-making from the 1600s to the present.
