Ten years ago, as December settled over New England, George W. Bush was in the White House, the Red Sox were plodding through yet another off season under the curse of the Bambino and there was no such thing as A Christmas Celtic Sojourn.
But that was about to change. On December 10, 2002 as WGBH’s A Celtic Sojourn host Brian O’Donovan gathered some friends and family on stage at the Somerville Theater and put on a "good old fashioned variety show" to celebrate the holiday season. A decade later, that show has grown into something of a New England institution and, for many, a yearly holiday tradition.
Brian stopped by the BPR studios to share a few highlights from a decade of Christmas Celtic Sojourns and preview this year's series of concerts.
