Members of WGBH are invited to attend events in our studios in Brighton. These Celtic Guest Street Sessions are relaxed and informal, featuring performances, conversations, and unexpected collaborations. This edition samples from the first year of these sessions, featuring the Folk Arts Quartet, the jazz-tinged sounds of Scottish singer Maeve Gilchrist, Robbie O'Connell, Susie Petrov and Calum Pasqua, the innovative sound of Hay Brigade, and uileann piper Paddy Keenan.

Saturday, Feb. 6, 3pm to 6pm on 89.7 WGBH
In the 1960s and 1970s, bands like Fairport Convention (shown), Steeleye Span, Lindisfarne and Pentangle created a new genre of music: Folk Rock. Host Brian O'Donovan explores recordings from that era on the Feb. 6 edition of the program.

Saturday, Feb. 13, 3pm to 6pm on 89.7 WGBH
Some of the great songs of contemporary Scottish folk have been written by Dougie MacLean. Brian O'Donovan explores some of Dougie's finest creations on this edition of A Celtic Sojourn, songs like Caledonia, Holding Back, and Ready for the Storm.

Saturday, Feb. 20, 3pm to 6pm on 89.7 WGBH
With eight CDs to their credit, colorful sisters Jennifer and Hazel Wrigley, from the Orkney Islands off the coast of Scotland, have set their own island brand of fiddle music on fire.  Brian O'Donovan explores their music on this afternoons edition of A Celtic Sojourn.

Saturday, Feb. 27, 3pm to 6pm on 89.7 WGBH
