Poirot and Hastings come to the French seaside resort Deauville for a well-deserved break, but upon arrival, Poirot is approached by Paul Renauld, who claims he is being defrauded. By the following morning, Renauld has been abducted. Hastings discovers Renauld’s body buried under a new bunker on the golf course, a love letter signed BD in his pocket.
