September means many things: The end of summer, start of fall, and for many, back to school season. For this month's You & Julia Challenge, we were inspired by Julia's love of homemade bread and asked our fans to show us their favorite sandwiches. Andy Husbands, Owner and Pitmaster of The Smoke Shop BBQ, helped us kick off the challenge. Here are our favorites:

Max Tan's seafood sandwich

Best Presented: Max T.
Max says: "My unique homemade sandwich is as educational as a biology class! I call this the 'Invertebrates of the Sea' sandwich due to the fact that I incorporated edible shellfishes from three representative invertebrate classes: crab, scallops and sea urchin."
Judges say: “It's so picture perfect, we'd be scared to take a bite and ruin its pristine presentation.”

Italian sandwiches

Best Effort: Maggie H.
Maggie says: "We love italians! For a staff meal, we made stacks of sandwiches with stacks of meat."
Judges say: “Not only did Maggie make one sandwich, she made nine!”

Trisha says: "Here's my BBQ pulled pork sandwich, topped with beer cheese sauce and crispy fried onions."
Judges say: “Three words: homemade beer cheese.”
