Ken Cooper (email@example.com) is a Senior Editor overseeing coverage of education; Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan; and sports and culture. Before joining GBH News in 2016, he was a reporter at the Washington Post, Boston Globe and other newspapers. He shared a Pulitzer Prize for a Globe series about institutionalized racism and, as the paper’s national editor, directed coverage of the 9/11 attacks. At the Post, he covered South Asia from New Delhi and education. He started his career in 1977 at the St. Louis American, a Black-owned weekly. He lives in Dorchester with his wife Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper, an artist and yoga teacher.
