Beyazmin Jiménez

Urban planner, cultural weaver, and archivist of diasporic remembrance

Jiménez works at the intersection of justice, economic development, and community development. She has carved out a unique path focused on building systems where equity, cultural memory, and collective power can thrive. She holds a Master’s in Urban Planning from Boston University and is a trusted community strategist and consultant to mission-driven organizations. Her work has supported a range of civic and community initiatives, including contributing her expertise to the City of Boston’s Rent Stabilization Advisory Committee.

Her leadership has been recognized through several honors, including being named to the Amplify 100, receiving the Extraordinary Women Award from the City of Boston, and the Driver of Community and Belonging Award at Northeastern University. For five years, she also served as a Health Equity Council Member for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, advising on strategies that advance health justice and community well-being. Beyond her professional work, Beyazmin curates creative and cultural experiences that explore heritage, memory, and collective healing. She is the creator of Connecting with our Ancestral Lineages, a dinner and storytelling series developed in partnership with Boston’s Comfort Kitchen that brings together chefs, artists, and cultural practitioners to celebrate diasporic traditions through food. The series has featured collaborators including Chef Sanza of South Africa, ceremonialist Ifé Franklin, and artist Luana Morales, among others, creating spaces where food, art, and storytelling reconnect communities to ancestral traditions.

Through strategy, storytelling, and cultural practice, Beyazmin’s work honors the wisdom of ancestral lineages while helping communities imagine and build more just, interconnected futures.
