After President Trump abruptly cancelled negotiations with Democrats on a second stimulus bill Tuesday, he appeared to backtrack with calls for a standalone bill to send Americans a second round of $1,200 checks. By Wednesday, however, Trump’s tactics appeared to have changed again, with the White House prioritizing a bailout for the airline industry and the question of stimulus checks still in the air.
