Since last week’s report from The Atlantic that President Donald Trump called American soldiers who died in war “losers” and “suckers,” and claiming that “nobody wants to see” wounded veterans in a military parade, the White House has been on the defensive. The reported remarks, however, fall in line with other public insults Trump has launched at Americans who have died or been injured in war.
