A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday found that 78% of Americans remained “very” or “somewhat” concerned about coronavirus, as the United States nears a death toll of 185,000. Meanwhile, this week, a former director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) published an op-ed in The New York Times calling for states and individuals to ignore the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the wake of evidence of that institution’s politicization under President Donald Trump.
