The journalism ethics site Poynter.org caused a stir this week with the argument that news organizations should obscure or not show the identities of people engaged in public protest. Cop Shows Cancelled
One of syndicated TV’s longest running shows, “Cops,” and basic cable’s highest rated show, “Live P.D.,” were abruptly canceled this week, along with a third show, “Body Cams.” All three were police reality TV, a genre that critics say encourages aggressive policing for entertainment purposes.
