145 CEOs signed a letter to Congress demanding gun control on Thursday. Callie Crossley, host of WGBH News’ Under The Radar joined Boston Public Radio on Friday to speak about the significance of the signing.

"145 CEOs is not a small group," Crossley said. "They put their names on this saying that 'Gun violence in America is not inevitable, it's preventable. We need our lawmakers to support common sense gun laws that can prevent tragedies like the most recent shootings.'"

Many who signed the letter acknowledged that consumers might disagree with them and discontinue shopping at their businesses, Crossley said.

"Yet they came together and said something must be said from the business community. We should also note from history that when the business community begins to get on-board, somehow that really aligns with some social causes and actually has an impact."
