This summer in Boston, the presence of the FIFA World Cup is felt throughout an exciting array of events, promising to entertain matchgoers from in and out of the city, who are already flooding in from across the world. Fans can attend events ranging from public watch parties across the city, hosted with various food trucks and vendors, to watching the live matches at Boston Stadium.

Juneteenth Freedom Day at Franklin Park | Free | Boston | In celebration of Juneteenth, The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture is holding a celebration of new Roxbury murals, food with trucks, live art installations, and family-friendly activities.

Berklee Summer in the City | Free | Boston | Berklee is hosting a summer series featuring over 200 free musical concerts by students and alumni all throughout the Boston area.

Boston Harborfest | Free | Boston | Boston Harborfest, one of the largest Independence Day festivals in the United States, celebrates Boston’s Colonial, Revolutionary War, and maritime history and heritage with an illustrious fireworks show.

Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular | Free | Boston | Boston Pops are putting on a concert for their fireworks spectacular featuring Lainey Wilson, Chance The Rapper, and Trombone Shorty. The concert ends with a fireworks display around 9:40 p.m.

TLI for Families: Music Moves, Stories Groove | $ | Lenox | Movement! Music! Storytelling. Rebbeca Sheir hosts an interactive storytelling experience for young people who are invited to bring music, poetry, and stories to life through interactive dance

July 7

The Great Gatsby – Theatrical Production | $ | Boston | Citizens Bank Opera House hosts a theatrical version of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic tale.

Sail Boston 250 | Free | Boston | Dozens of Tallships from across the globe will be at the Sail Boston Festival on Boston Harbor with their crews in tow. The event is all ages and free for all, and features Sam Adams beer garden, concessions, merchandise, and the Sail Boston Ferris Wheel. The Festival has an array of events scheduled for children and families. It runs Saturday, July 11 from 4-10 p.m., and Sunday July 12 through Wednesday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Harvard museum hosts events for children and families.

MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) | Free | Boston | MassArt Art Museum is hosting outdoor exhibitions this summer. As Boston’s only fully free contemporary art museum, their focus this summer is to integrate art into the community with contemporary art installations, both rotating and ongoing.
