Wednesday night's segments focused on reopening Massachusetts.
First, Dr. Jeremy Faust is an emergency physician at Brigham and Women's hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School. He said he's concerned with the recent uptick in cases, though he couldn't say whether the state has entered a second wave yet. He added the state needs to adjust its reopening plans and determine what its priorities are for reopening the state's economy.
Then, we connected with State Sen. Eric Lesser, who represents communities in Western Massachusetts. Lesser criticized the state's color-coded system used for re-opening, and in particular, for re-opening schools. He said the system — which color-codes cities and towns based on cases and infection rates — is arbitrary and requires school districts to make plans based on a moving target.
