Donald Trump’s first State of the Union was half victory lap, half stories of acts of heroism. In the end, 75 percent of people who watched the speech approved of it, according to a new CBS News poll. The theme they heard throughout was one of unity, but not everyone was buying it — and, in America these days, it’s all about where the rubber meets the road. Jim Braude was joined by two people who were in the audience for the speech —Rasky Partners, Jessica Tocco Senior Vice President, who was a guest of the White House, and Carbonite President and CEO Mohamad Ali, who was a guest of Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA).
A new digestive health treatment facility in Boston has a personal connection to the head of one of Boston’s sports teams. The Marlene Neely Center for Digestive Health opened earlier this month at Tufts Medical Center. Named for the late mother of Boston Bruins President Cam Neely, the new facility will provide cancer screen tests, like endoscopies and colonoscopies, as well as other GI procedures.
The ninth season of High School Quiz Show premieres this Saturday with defending champs Lexington High School taking on the Advanced Math & Science Academy of Marlborough. The season ends with the first ever High School Quiz Show: Invitational, in which the Massachusetts champions will face off against the winners of High School Quiz Show in Maine, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Quiz Master Billy Costa joined Jim Braude to talk about what we can expect in the new season … and to see what it’s like on the other side of the buzzer.
