When Lincoln Chafee (@LincolnChafee) decided not to run for a second term as Rhode Island’s Governor, after two decades of public service, many assumed he was walking away from politics. But then, a few weeks ago, the Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat announced he was running for president.
The latest New Hampshire poll indicates that his campaign hasn’t picked up much traction yet. He has just one percent support in this CNN/WMUR survey.
"There's a lot of repair work to be done, and that's why I am running for President," said Chafee.
When asked about his history of changing political parities, Chafee said, "When you look at the issues...I've never changed. You can look at my record...it's never changed."
