It had been the Ferdinand Furniture Building. Part of a once-bustling commerce scene in Roxbury's Dudley Square, which died leaving the building empty and boarded up for many years. A visual reminder to residents of a neighborhood all but abandoned by developers.

Now, the crumbling Art Deco beauty has been reborn as the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building, the future headquarters for the Boston School Department, the Roxbury Innovation Center, and home to handpicked local businesses.
