Democratic Congressman James McGovern says the President's decision to end the Cold War policies of the past five decades is an historic, long-overdue move.

Last Wednesday,  President Obama announced normalizing relations between the United States and Cuba, and McGovern tells WGBH, "for fifty plus years we have isolated the island, we have had this economic embargo and rattled the sabers in Washington and done everything we could to try and change the government and it hasn't worked. If anything, he says  our policies have  been used by  Cuban government hard liners to justify their excesses and failures in their economy."
