Marilyn Schairer

Marilyn Schairer is a reporter for GBH News. She joined GBH in 2012, as a fill-in host and producer for GBH’s Morning Edition. Marilyn previously worked as a television news anchor, reporter, public affairs host and weather anchor in NY, CT, and RI. She taught communication courses at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI for nine years. Marilyn is the 2025 recipient of a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award, a 2021 PMJA News Series Award for those who died of COVID, and several regional Emmy nominations including a long-form story on physician assisted suicide and a gas explosion that killed two Attleboro city workers. She holds a degree in Speech and Communication Studies from Emerson College and studied at Harvard University.
