Taped by WGBH Forum Network, researcher Yuly Fuentes-Medel visited Science in the News to discuss her work with model organisms in science (i.e. mice and worms).

Fuentes-Medel explains why using these organisms as proxies for humans can help scientists, especially in developing countries, do research more efficiently.  She also talks about why they cannot be directly correlated to humans and the dangers of doing so.
