Four Harvard University buildings surrounding Harvard Yard were evacuated Monday morning after the university received unconfirmed reports that explosives may have been placed in four buildings on the campus.

UPDATE 2:45 p.m.: All buildings have been cleared.

Update: Science Center cleared. Students, faculty, and staff should enter through Science Plaza doors. All four sites now open.

Harvard Alert-Report of bombs on campus remains unconfirmed. Federal and state officials have joined the probe. Updates to be posted at harvard.edu/emergency

[UPDATE 10:50 a.m.] In an email to students and employees at 10:43 a.m., the university said access to Harvard Yard has been restricted to Yard residents with Harvard IDs

The university ordered evacuation of the Science Center, Thayer, Sever, and Emerson in an email to students and employees at 9:13 a.m.

Harvard University police and Cambridge police are on the scene investigating.

The Harvard Crimson reported that final exams have been cancelled for the morning.
