Seay welcomed Morning Edition's new host, Joe Mathieu, formerly of WBZ radio. Mathieu gets behind the microphone starting 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
Throughout his more than 50-year career, Seay has worked at Boston, Rhode Island, and Cape Cod broadcasting stations, including a stint at WGBH Television in the 1960s, when he worked with Julia Child and Fred Rogers while attending Boston University.
