The best-selling American pop duo of all time, Hall and Oates, will perform Saturday at Boston's TD Garden.

The popular 80's group has sold more than 40 million records, including 29 top 40 hits.

John Oates, one-half of the duo, recently published a book titled  Change of Seasons: A Memoir , which chronicles his life growing up in New York City and Pennsylvania, meeting up with Daryl Hall in Philadelphia, and how their careers intertwined.

Oates spoke with WGBH's Henry Santoro. 

about his book, songwriting, and life on the road with Daryl Hall during the height of their musical career.

Hall and Oates headlines at the Garden at 7 p.m. Saturday, along with opening act, Tears for Fears.
