The Booth family is undoubtedly most famous for producing the man who murdered Abraham Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth. But before Lincoln's 1865 assassination, the family was far more famous for producing John's brother, Edwin—an actor considered by some to be one of the greatest of the 19th century.

A new play called "Our American Hamlet" looks at what happened to Edwin after his brother's infamous act—specifically, his turn as the lead character in Shakespeare's tragic play, "Hamlet."

Joining Boston Public Radio for the Friday News Quiz are the two men behind the world premiere of “Our American Hamlet,” Steven Maler and Jake Broder. Jake Broder is an actor, writer, and musician. He’s the playwright of “Our American Hamlet,” and he also is in actor in its world premiere. Steven Maler is the director of the Sorenson Center for the Arts and the Founding Artistic Director of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company.He ‘s directing “Our American Hamlet, “ which runs through April 2 at Babson College’s Sorenson Center for the Arts.
