Traditionally, South Boston's state senator emcees festivities at the annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast. City Councilor Bill Linehan — who guest-hosted during a vacancy in 2013 — insisted he'll host next year's festivities as well, despite the fact that the vacancy has been filled.
Senator Linda Dorcena Forry would ostensibly host, if Councilor Linehan weren't insisting he once again get the task. Dorcena Forry is Haitian-American, not Irish-American, a fact that has rankled in the traditionally Irish-American South Boston.
Should Dorcena Forry lead the breakfast? Or should Councilor Linehan — descendant of Irish immigrants — host instead? Jim Braude and Adam Reilly — in for Margery Eagan — asked callers what they thought.
