Research basis for description techniques:The image descriptions included in this website are based on guidelines developed during a four-year of research funded by the National Science Foundation and in collaboration with American Foundation for the Blind, American Printing House for the Blind and Learning Ally. We recommend that you explore the Guidelines for Describing STEM Images in addition to reviewing the examples on this page.
