You make have seen the viral video of Bo, the Obamas' Portuguese Water Dog, slinking around the White House and inspecting the Christmas display. Imagine for a second Bo wasn't a dog but a rooster — appropriate enough for the White House's humble beginnings — and the First Family had to make peace not only with the morning crowing, but incessant shrieks, clucks and pecking.
In that case, Boston Globe columnist Brian McGrory would be able to lend some advice. His new book is called Buddy — How a Rooster Made Me a Family Man. It's all about how a rooster put him through the ringer, and became an unlikely friend in the process.
