Recent Press Releases

  • GBH productions were honored with three Emmys at the 46th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards. FRONTLINE received a News Emmy for Maui’s Deadly Firestorm and a Documentary Emmy for Two American Families: 1991-2024. NOVA received a Documentary Emmy for Hunt for the Oldest DNA. Presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the News & Documentary Emmy Awards seek to honor outstanding achievements in news and documentary programming. The winners were announced during a two-night ceremony in New York City on June 25 and 26.
  • The award-winning PBS science series, NOVA, a production of GBH, today announced HUMAN, a five-part series documenting the long and complex story of the human species, will premiere Wednesdays, September 17-October 15 at 9pm ET/8c on PBS (check local listings) and will also be available for streaming at pbs.org/nova, NOVA on YouTube, and the PBS App.
  • The World, the daily radio program of global news and analysis from public media organizations GBH and PRX, and DW, Germany’s international public broadcaster, are extending their global reach through a collaboration to expand international news coverage. The World and DW collaboration offers an even more robust slate of global journalism for U.S. audiences while also growing the impact of trusted international reporting from both DW and The World.
  • As part of its longstanding commitment to supporting science education, Boston public media producer GBH today announced the 2025 recipients of the Paula S. Apsell GBH STEM Scholarship. Seventeen Boston public high school graduates will each receive a more than $2,000 award toward post-secondary STEM education.
  • GBH News has been honored with eight Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards — the most in a single year in the newsroom’s history — by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).
