Boston, Mass. (Jul. 7, 2026) - GBH Music and CRB Classical 99.5 are partnering with Classical NEPM to broadcast the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s concerts from Tanglewood this summer, reaching listeners with more live music across Massachusetts and beyond. New this season, through an expanded collaboration following the merger of NEPM and GBH, Classical NEPM will broadcast more of the performances live, and begin airing all three weekend concerts.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Tanglewood concerts are a summer tradition in the Berkshires, featuring renowned musical performances and guest artists at the orchestra’s seasonal home in Lenox and Stockbridge, MA. The GBH Music and CRB Classical 99.5 broadcasts, hosted by Brian McCreath, offer full-length performances directly from Tanglewood for listeners to enjoy.
“Broadcasts from Tanglewood have been a cornerstone of our summer lineup for decades, and we’re excited to expand our schedule of these celebrated performances for listeners across western Massachusetts,” said NEPM President Matt Abramovitz. “Bringing the full Tanglewood season to our audience strengthens our commitment to connecting the region to vibrant arts and culture.”
Beyond Massachusetts, WAMC in New York and WMNR in Connecticut will bring the broadcasts to Albany and Hartford, broadening access to the Tanglewood concerts throughout the Northeast.
“A visit to Tanglewood is a New England experience as iconic as a night at Fenway Park,” said Sam Brewer, General Manager of GBH Music. “We’re delighted to bring this tradition to listeners across the Northeast by sharing the music of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the incredible lineup of guest artists in store this season. We’re especially excited to extend the reach of our broadcasts to Western Massachusetts listeners on Classical NEPM, right in Tanglewood’s backyard.”
This seven-week season opens on July 10 with Andris Nelsons conducting an all-Tchaikovsky program featuring pianist Seong-Jin Cho, including Piano Concerto No. 1 and selections from Swan Lake. Programming throughout the summer will include cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, and Maestro of the Movies: A Tribute to John Williams with the Boston Pops. Other featured artists include violinists Joshua Bell and Augustin Hadelich, soprano Renée Fleming, and conductor Joe Hisaishi, who leads a program of his own music.
Broadcasts begin Friday, Jul. 10, and run through Sunday, Aug. 23, with Friday and Saturday concerts airing live at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 7 p.m. on Classical NEPM and CRB Classical 99.5.
